I think I know what it is. It seems to happen every time about this time of month. The BotM pictorial's coming.

It seems to require several days of prep. Listen close, and you can hear all the sawing and hammering and chiseling going on in the woods.

I kinda wish it didn't take so long, but it has to, what with Jeff's day job and his other site (which miraculously has had an update nearly every day). I keep kicking around the thought of joining Battlechix, but my wallet keeps bitchslapping me every time...

Ah well. (hammer hammer saw saw)

I'm trying to add a little code to the RPG prototype every night, if possible. Yesterday I was working on the screen that reports the results of the previous day's gang activities. Oh, and I have stealing implemented. And currently, the way the probabilities are set up, it is *hard* to make enough money to stay afloat. I'll know what's making it so hard when I finish the report screen. =)

Hammer hammer. Chisel chisel.

Yep, Kitty-Kat-Woman is purring away, and you'll see more of her soon!

I've pretty much given up on posting. It *IS* quiet. During my twelve day vacation there were comic pages posted on the 4th, the 7th, and the 14th. Oh, there was a wallpaper of the Easter Kitty Kat picture on Easter. That said, I felt like my vacation went by with few updates.

Speaking as a member of Battlechix, I am impressed by the near daily updates over there. Of course, I STILL don't see why the site has to exist at all! And now SpaceChix is on the horizon. I wouldn't have thought Jeff could make enough money from the sites to replace his day job, so I'm guessing he must like self-punishment. Why do all that extra work? And again, why have the site at all? justice Babes could benefit from effort spent elsewhere, and the topics are NOT that different. Sheesh! There could be different sections here. I would gladly pay more money for the "extra" content! Smile

I get disappointed when I see what APPEARS to be an example of the old cliché, "too many irons in the fire." So many of the characters are blurring together. do we need so many similar characters running around? They dilute the site's strengths and confuse subscribers. For example, it took me a while to figure out that Lyta and Morgan weren't the same person! Except for a little bit of hair work they seem identical. And that goes true for others. Jeff created some great characters for us to enjoy. Sometimes he even generously invited feedback. Why dredge up old characters like Nefertiti and Silver Stalker from long ago when we have new ones like rumble Bee and Kitty Kat made with Poser 5 and Vicky 3 models?

This reminds me of the old Avengers days when there were so many characters running around that they confused everyone. In reaction, the editors wisely, once again, trimmed the team. We have a simple situation here: Justice Babes and their respective villains. Couldn't we have a nicely organized grouping of each? There are so many new and "revived" characters popping up that we seldom see much of any one. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE NEXT WONDER BROAD COMIC PAGE! Instead, I have to content myself with side plots and polls for long-dead (and mostly uninteresting!) characters. The casino models for Wonder Broad, Flasher, and Crypt kicker are still the old, old versions. Why not bring them up to date with their comic likenesses before sprinting off to do other projects?

Now before you guys start flaming me, let me clarify my position here. I joined Justice Babes over a year ago because i was a fan of Jeff Whitings art back from his "older" Renderocity days. I was particularly attracted to his Wonder Broad render. I also joined Battlechix as soon as it opened. In this time, I have posted at least as much as anybody else on this board, and have had a great time exchanging comments and wisecracks with Hollow, Ron, and Jeff (and others). I have always paid my subscription fee gladly, and continue to support Justice Babes AND Battlechix. I see no reason to stop supporting either. I am not some angry "troll" but a concerned customer--with a long repressed opinion. Please file this post under "customer feedback" and not under "smart-ass punk trying to attack people!" Wink

Thank You,
Benjamin

One thing the other site has allowed me to do is to quit my dayjob so I *can* focus more time on the web art. Justice Babes is mainly based on the traditional comic book heroines, and other is more of a video-game girl inspiration. Both feature naked girls fighting and getting into sexual situations, but the audience has some differences. A very large portion of the membership base on Ballechix is Japanese. We have some cross-overs, but I don't think it's all that much.

Personally, I've never cared much for the Babe of the Month part of the site. It's fun to see who wins the vote, but it takes days away from comic pages, which take longer to produce. We asked about this a while back, and almost everyone wanted to keep the BOM feature, so that's why it's still here. The jigsaws and pinups are quick ways to get something out there inbetween comic pages, and the puzzles are pretty popular. I've spent more than a few hours building images that I created, so they can be pretty addictive. I do like having the core team we have in the comics - too many girls dilute the characters and stories too much. BOM has always been handled by voting, and the characters picked are the ones the majorty of members voted for. I'd lke to see a new Wonder Broad layout for 2004, but she hasn't been picked again!

I think the updates here have been at pretty much the same pace for a long time now. We try to shoot for something every other day, but this month has been a little behind. Things have been a little tight working two sites and the dayjob, but next month, I'm here full time, and it should really show. The other site started with a very sparse member's area, so it's getting more frequent updates for now to fill it out. The two sites are independant of each other though, and content doesn't mix. My style will come through and both, and there will be some redundant uses of hairstyles and clothing props, but as time goes by and the software advances, I think the characters will become much more unique and individual. Poser is just at the start of what 3D people can be!

Thanks for the feedback, and we'll try and get some more stuff out for you guys pretty quick. The Kittykat BOM layout is done, and should be up real soon.

Thank you for the polite reply! I guess I am so sensitive because of trolls and flamers on OTHER sites that I hesitated to express myself here. I should have known better!

Today's updates at JB and Battchix are both great! They are the kinds of things that keep me coming back for more! I told you back when you introduced Kitty Kat that I thought her physique to be the most original in a looong time. I also thought her hair and overall body were similar to the Wasp's (Janet Van Dyne). She is a favorite of mine that has gone unrecognized by the Poser community (probably because she is small and slim rather than huge and amazon-like). You did her well, Jeff! I particularly like her pairing with Lucky. I sure didn't see that one coming. Oh, and page nine makes me VERY happy! i guess I am a hardcore junky after all. Wink

I thought it might be cool to tie in Lucky, back in the day, before he got dropped in a vat of toxic goo. He was a lucky little sidekick for a while (and Kittykat-Woman got some goo on her, too!).

Thanks for the opinions! We thrive on feedback, so always feel free to speak up and let us know what you want, and keep us on our toes!

You are always become to speak up on our message board. There are no worries about flamers on this site.

I was kind of worried about flamers and spammers on the JB board back in the early days- but it's been very tamed and civilized so far. Occassionally we'll get some spammer randomly advertising, but it hasn't been terribly bad.

Your comments and suggestions are all valid.

The BoTM is a favorite for people back in the days when it started probably because it was a way for fans to learn more about a specific character through the interviews. I think now- the BotM has changed a bit and a chore for Jeff- and some what also hard for Jeff to come up with 'background story material on these characters. First- it's hard to come up with a background story on a character that may or may not make it into the comics. And usually we do he comics stories based on feedback and suggestions. Often the story develops the character more then the 'bio/interview' in the pictorial. And if we start writing some fiction or background story on a character and then later use the character in the comic - we'll run into plot holes or inconsistency problems. Argh- so this is the reason why the pictorials are no longer accompanied by the interviews. While- I could jump in and create a bible and outline everything down- this isn't fun for Jeff- because it will restrict his freedom of creativity. And secondly, all of our stories are based on fan reactions. Jeff will have some road map or story idea he'll want to do that keeps his interest going- but we'll end up changing the stories along the way. That's the beauty of online comics. If you've noticed we've introduced hardcore girl/guy in the Trophy Hunt because fans wanted to see more hardcore. We ran a poll a while back on that. We started getting suggestions and requests for Super Heroines in Perils. Being tied up. etc.. Which leads to why we have the 3rd issue of SideKick Hotline...

Keep in mind one thing! Our site is all about evolution! We like to cater our content to what majority of the paying fans want... We try to satisify our audience (for those who speak out!).

And thanks for speaking out!
