Hey Undine- Hope we haven't lost you yet--

For a while Jeff and I have been scattering our efforts cuz nobody has spoken up about what they really want to see more of..

Now that we have a members poll running. We can actually get a better sense of direction on how to make the majority of our members happy.

As usual, feel free to speak up- and email us... or start a group discussion on new ideas... we're dedicated to make JusticeBabes a great site..... (this goes to all of our members.)

We've been going slow on the trading batte card game because we're not getting much response on it... it seems people mainly want Strip Casino chicks to play with.... The Card game is a huge development. With the given number of members we have and the low number of interests for the battle game- we have to think twice about where our time is best spent. It would suck majorly for Jeff and I to put so much effort into the card game and nobody ends up playing it or dig it much....

We're thinking of some other addictive yet entertaining and fun game that is not as complicated to program and develop. Suggestions? Maybe a Justice Babes Tetris?

Thanks for the previous posting Undine! it definitely gave us some food for thought in reorganizing our update efforts.

Personally, my response to a Tetris clone is "ehh". I would much, much, much prefer more comics. The pictures are pretty, and the games are a nice twist on a pay-for-pictures site, but there's tons of characters here, and no stories for them.

If the world were mine to control, Jeff would drive down the highway and see mysterious billboards saying "Mooooore comics"... Strange voices would whisper to him at night, saying "mooore comics"... The letters in his Alph-A-Bits cereal would float around until they spelled out "mre cmics" (because I ran out of Os a while ago)... He'd go see Episode 2 again, and Obiwan Kenobi would wave his hand and say "you do not require more Reese's Pieces... you want to go home and make more comics..."

So, like, more comics would be cool.

More comics will come soon! We're still developing a feel as to what people would like to see from the site, so it's definately a work in progress. I have a background in traditional comics, and it's still my favorite thing to do, but I can also see that from a subscriber point of view, a comic page goes by in a few seconds, where a casino game can last a long time. We're going to have to build a good mix of both, with material to develop characters, and enjoy parodies of the popular female heroines, and also offer interactive content for users to spend some time with. We've noticed a definate popularity for straight comic-book type characters over fantasy material on the site, so that's becoming a focus for us. We also like the medium that allows us to mix our skills - the art and the shockwave content.

It really helps us to have members speak up and tell us what they like - what characters you want to see more of, and which ones you don't. If you have favorite characters from the world of comics - let us know which ones you'd like to see us parody. We have lots of girls in the mix, but a good core group of favorites is ideal, and we can focus on them.

We've been a little negligent in producing new dealers for the casino and breakout games, but there's going to be a new crop in the coming week, and then some new comic pages. From the poll, it looks like those two items are what people most want to see, and we still would like very much to get the Battle Card game into development.

We like the naked comic babes as much as you guys, and the feedback this week has really helped us figure out what to focus on. PLEASE keep it coming - all suggestions help. We thanks all the members for your support and helping us to build the site you want to see.

Still here for another month. I understand wanting to cover as many bases as possible, and latching onto whatever the customers crow about. That's fine, but it wasn't my beef. The big thing was, to be honest, the promises of more comics this week, which either never materialized or did so haphazardly (and I understand not knowing where to go with the comics, either; the only other comic-related site like this that I'm aware of leaves misogyny behind; it took me all of ten minutes to cancel my subscription there). While I
admit to not caring for the pin-ups or wallpapers much, I knew that other people liked them - that's cool, that's their thing. It's the missed deadlines that got to me - I'm in a related industry, and had several people miss deadlines which I had to make up for. I think you can understand what it's like to have that happen professionally, and then come home to it in leisure, too.

I do, however, have a parting thought you may want to consider: the new PC game,
Freedom Force, may well be a good place to demonstrate your skinning skills.

I can see Jeff's point about comics not being as "replayable" as games. In fact, I have a hard time disagreeing with it. But what am I saying? This is the Internet. I can disagree with anything.

Seriously though. Like I've said before, comics provide a back story to the characters featured here. It lets us think of them AS actual characters, instead of merely eye candy. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with plain ol' eye candy - swimsuit issues have proven that (there's another idea for ya)... I guess that, for me, it's like having all these pictures of fictional babes, and there's this low-hanging fruit right over here in the form of stories about them, and it's too good to pass up.

Comics can last a while, too. Where there's comics, there's fanfics. (Assuming Jeff and Ronald are OK with that.) And endless discussions in this forum on who could kick whose ass, how powerful so-and-so is, etc.

As for games, yeah, they can last a while, no doubt. However, the games here so far are pretty simple. I can play any one of them to death in ten minutes or less, and then I feel done. The poker game is about as close to addictive as I've felt, due to being able to build up one's money, not to mention having thousands of virtual dollars' worth of pictures to spend it on. But my algorithm for picking what to discard feels about as perfect as I can get it, and so it gets a bit mind-numbing...

I certainly don't want to trash the coder, however. I've done enough programming to know how much work it requires. In the interest of constructive criticism:

I'd love to see more complex jigsaw puzzles. Three features: larger workspace, more pieces, and have them all rotated randomly. (90-degree increments are sufficient.) I used to love puzzles as a kid, and could easily spend hours with them. The image itself wouldn't have to be any higher-res than it is now. Now, I'm sure the size of the program would be much higher. How big would a 500-piece production be? If it's, say, 5 megs or more, I guess that's a showstopper... (5 megs would take me a little under half an hour on my dialup. I could certainly wait that long in return for several hours of timekilling on a weekend.)

Breakout - more types of bricks would certainly be a bonus. Lower the speed of the ball in the later levels, using precision and skill instead of raw reflexes to make those levels harder. Make the ball smaller. Use a less tinny sound for ball impacts. If you're feeling ambitious, I've been kicking around this idea for little monsters/babes tromping around the playing field, doing mean things to the ball, or letting you hit them with the ball in certain cases for rewards...

The battle card game still strikes me as VERY ambitious. On the plus side, it could potentially be the biggest draw to the site. Everyone's seen jigsaws and breakout and Tetris clones and casino games, but an online card game is still pretty novel, esp. with original rules. I am both skeptical and excited. My poll choice still stands, though; I prefer more comics.

"Interactive content" - as in, say, a poll-driven comic? That would be cool...

Undine's comment about "leaving misogyny behind" left me wondering. First of all, whether he meant getting TOO nasty, or not nasty enough. Secondly, just how bawdy do y'all plan to make this site? For what my opinion is worth: I for one can do without anything extreme here. A "rated-R Danger Girl" level, roughly speaking, is fine. Keep it light and funny. "The Last Word" is a good example. Actually, my humble opinion: the more funny, the better.

Yeeks. This much more than I'd planned to write... on a good note, the new Superior Girl looks fantastic!! The hair's perfect! (Yes, I'm looking at the hair, leave me alone! )

Glad you liked the breakout. Your ideas for breakout features are interesting. Yes- I have thought of adding more brick colors. And also the monster moving around idea. That's 'possibility' - Another idea i had was having objectives in each level. Such as hitting the key- before hitting the key-hole. Basically hitting bricks in a certain order. Say the "A" brick before the "B" brick.

You've got lots of great ideas.... Tho I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to do all of them since coding takes effort and it might be best to spend coding time on things the majority would want to see.. From the looks of the poll. People want more Strip Casino and Battle Card game in terms of coding... The Comics is going to be Jeff's ball court. Tho we've talked about interactive comics or interactive story telling... Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

It was too nasty - basically, every other sequence was [word censored]-based.

Speaking of which, the pic for Superior Girl in Breakout uses the old symbol (bottom right icon for her, not the level pics).
