Have tried several puzzle games when I select a puzzle it loads and then an error message comes up "this is not a director's file". I would like to play these puzzles the last one I tried was the imperfect picture the last of the newest added puzzles. Can you give any suggestions as to what I can do to get rid of this problem it has happened on many of the game programs also, thanks for your assistance.

Can you tell me which games you loaded which puzzle games specifically.

We haven't had any problems with the game, and it might be related to some shockwave player plugin update or flash update they made recently.

The best way to fix this is probably do a complete uninstall and then a full install using the full installer (not slim).

the games that I have had this problem are extreme solataire, imperfect pictures and strip texas holdem. All come up with the same error message about director file. Have not tried all of the games because many of them I do not play. I hope this helps you to solve this problem.

I think you definitely need to uninstall your shockwave player and then reinstall it. We haven't changed anything on our end to cause this problem. So the problem is something on your end that needs to be fixed. Did you do something differently recently? Windows updates? Shockwave or flash updates?

Possibly your file extension association. Did you associate .dcr files for something else?

Did you install Director on your computer?

It's definitely related to probably a bad installation or 'update' of shockwave player.

I just recently noticed there was an update to shockwave player. I've just selected NO to upgrading the player.

I just now started to update it and its slightly quirky but I managed to install it successfully.

Depending on what browser you are using, it may have some hiccups.

So I recommend going to the FAQ/SUPPPORT page in the members area and follow the links that I posted about "uninstalling" and "reinstalling".

Usually this always does the trick.

Let me know.

This is definitely NOT a problem on our end as our game files have NOT changed in forever. This is related to a bad shockwave player update or install, that can only be fixed with the right installation on your end.

Remember it's Shockwave Player and not Flash.

Here is the link if you need it.
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

(if you are using Firefox, the correct installation would be Netscape version).

Download the uninstaller. Then download the full installer. (when it ask if you want google and any other add on, select no. It's some stupid cross promotional toolbar they're trying to install with your plugin. I always ignore those. Just more junk on your system.)

I did the uninstall and install of the shockwave player and now have no problems. Thanks for the assistance and I am still awaiting new updates to the virtual girls with Jayme Langford. Keep up the good work and thanks again for your assistance.
