| It is with a sad and heavy heart,I report that after 20 years of loyal and loving friendship, due to severely failing health I was compelled as an act of kindness to put down my dearest cat Toady.I feel like I murdered my best friend. |

It's always a hard choice, but you mustn't beat yourself up for it. You made what you felt was the best choice given all the information you had, and always remember the time you put into the choice when you second guess yourself.

| I can only pray that your cat has moved on peacefully into whatever fate has in store for him. I don't know if there is a god, or if he has a special place for animals, but I'm sure that your cat has something good going for it if you were able to care for him so long that he was able to survive up to that age. |

You did the best you could, sweetie.
You are so strong that you put your furry friend to sleep. I would be on my knees, crying my eyes out if I had done it myself. Is good that your Toady died in humane way rather than continue until the the pain kills him.
He's now in peace and I believe he's in a better place. *hugs toonaxe tighter*
Who knows, maybe he might meet my black Pomeranian, Saki. *giggle softly* |

Oh sweetie.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you were upset about it but remember you gave him sweet life and he rewarded you in turn by being with you for so long.

Being a fellow cat lover, I can sympathize... My family once had a cat named Sassy. She went out hunting one night and never came back.
I'm sorry that something like this had to happen... I'm not good with words, but the best I can suggest is to remember the good times you had with him. |

| I'm sorry Toonaxe, you did what any grateful pet owner would do. Same happened to me as with Leaf, and I never saw him after, so remember the all good things and know Toady lived a long and extremely happy life. |

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Toonaxe. I was in the same boat a couple of years ago when I had to put my loving cat Tucker down. I'll never be the same, but what got me through it was a saying I heard at a funeral, and I believe it can apply to pets aswell:
"Even though a loved one has left this world, they will live on through those that treasured them most." |

| Sorry Toon, I empathize. I had to put my "Munchkin" down last year at 24. Towards the end it was a mercy, put that doesn't help to make it any easier. There was a wonderful poem I remember reading as a child when my first dog passed on that spoke of not grieving because your pets will all be playing at the gates of heaven waiting for you. I wish I could find it for you. It made me feel a little better. |

| My Black German Shepherd died on me a few months ago. He was 14. Just remember all the joy your cat brought to you and all the joy you brought her. |

| You had a Cat that lived to be 20, thats amazing. I always liked cats a bit better then dogs. Most cats are lazy like me. |

Thats terrible to hear Toonaxe. Having grown up with two little kitties and losing them, it's, for lack of better words to describe it, its brutal, its unbearable, its devastating to lose a pet that you've had for so long. But, all you can do is just really remember all the great times, all the times that you've had with your cat, and cherish them. 20 years is a long
It's tough to lose a friend.
I'm sorry |
