Avatar appreciation thread

Because it cannot be said enough, here's a thread to show appreciation for the avatar pinup and potential cameo in the comic you've recieved.


I know I've said most of it before, but I really love the way Vanessa has drawn my fursona. It's better than anything I was expecting. I had this idea of what I wanted my fursona to look like, and I had spent a lot of time thinking about, but I wasn't even close to imagining the brilliant piece of work that Vanessa would create for me.

I really love the way Vanessa has drawn Constance's body. It's exactly as I wanted it, and the pose is perfect too. Vanessa has perfectly captured the athletic build I wanted for Constance, with all the right curves.
There's also something about her neck that keeps getting my attention. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but in the avatar pinup, her neck looks so soft and nice. It's the combination of the long neck, the necklace around it, and the hair that frames it. I know this might sounds weird, and it's difficult for me to explain, but I really like it.

The colors that Vanessa used are perfect too. I was actually imagining Constance with a slightly lighter fur, but this chocolate color is much better. It really looks stunningly great with her darker hair. I know I've mentioned the color of her nipples a lot. So much that I wonder if anyone thought that I was joking, but it's really true when I say how much I love them. This was an area I hadn't given any thought to. I guess I had simply been expecting Constance to have the standard pink ones, but these look so much better on her. They look so good, in fact, that I'd hope Constance can have a similarly colored labia, if such a scene ever presents itself. :oops: :D

The way Vanessa has drawn the dress, tells me that Vanessa likes to design the different outfits of the characters. It is so much better and more interesting than the simple kind of dress I was imagining. You can really see her personal touch there, and how she has drawn it to fit perfectly with the style she uses in the comic. I don't know where she gets the inspiration for all those details, but it's really a stunning piece of work. It's all the things I had specified, plus some awesome extra things like that brooch/pin and the mayflowers adorning the hemline and the straps.

and that's just the pinup. Then there's the cameo, which really surprised me. Just as the first picture of Constance had some really pleasant surprises, so did these pages of the comic. The way we see Constance walking in the first panel. That's exactly like I imagine her. Vanessa has perfectly captured the elegance of Constance, making her look like a model at a fashion show. Her legs look amazing too. They have the perfect blend of strength and femininity to them that I wanted, and it was a great choice of Vanessa to display them like she did.

I was also amazed by another little detail Vanessa added to Constance dress: The red lace in the back. It looks fantastic. It's so good that Vanessa picked the red color for this, and I absolutely love the way it's tied to Constance's tail.


I know this is becoming a lengthy post, and I know I've said much of this before, but I really felt like making a thread for it. The thing is, it's been over a year since I recieved my avatar, and I'm still not the least bit tired of looking at it. In fact, I use my pinup and the pages of my comic appearance as inspiration for my writing. Whenever I'm writing a post that relates to Constance, and especially when I'm working on my story, I regularly look at these pictures to get inspiration and to better visualize Constance in the situation. :D

I could probably go on and on, but I'll stop for now and leave it to others to show some appreciation for their avatars here.

Mine already existed in pictures for years already, but I was surprised at how Lady Vanessa perfectly did my character.

Plus I was absolutely giddy when I saw my first appearance in the comic. And now I'm giddy and can't wait for page 8 of the current issue. :lol:

I've been on for a few years now and I'm always impressed by Vanessa's work. When she created my avatar, the first one ever created for me, I love it. So thank you Vanessa for my avatar and for giving us such wonderful art.

I, too, get giddy seeing little cameos, even just in the background, and am grateful for those. :)

I always find it fascinating to see a new avatar be made, because I like to read the avatar description and try to picture it myself.

and I really don't think I can say often enough how much I appreciate my avatar. I figured that I'd start this thread after using your amazing artwork helped as inpiration for my story. I really don't get tired of looking at how you've drawn my fursona. :D
