Bon Bon Military

This is NOT ment to be an RP, but if anybody wants to make it one go ahead but notify me of it so may join in as well.

Just a thought, ever wonder why Bon Bon is so peaceful?
Maybe there is an elite unit of individuals who protect it?
I don't really know, for all I know no one really cares to comit crimes because of the available opportunities of procreation... except for Randy the IV who comits crimes and gets some while he's at it, lucky little $#!T.
But in any case what if- I mean although I'm military, I think this could be an awesome idea.

Anybody else?

Bon Bon has a small police force to keep the peace. It's a small town town in the mountains that few people know about and most of the people who come to town do so on a temporary basis. It may attract a lot of military/fighter types looking for a place of peace and relaxation, but why in the world would it need a military?

I don't know why Bon Bon would need one really since you put it that, maybe something that would add more drama.

I don't think there should be a need for a military within Bon Bon because its not needed.
Like Ashton said, the town is in the mountains, very few people know and they only stay for short periods of time.
Besides, if Bon Bon has to go to war, it has its own group of elite warriors at the ready.
Just take a quick browse over all of the current RPers here and you will know what i mean.

Protecting Bon Bon from what? I mean, that's the question here. It's a small, exceedingly pleasant little town in the foot hills of the Italian Alps or somewhere near there. There aren't barbarian tribes in the hinterlands, orcs hiding underground, or an ever belligerent Evil Empire on the horizon. If the Kingdom of Italy or the Austro-Hungarian Empire haven't snatched it up already, I doubt they'd care to. And if they did, nothing could really be done to stop them save get blown up for your trouble.

For all we know, the town might technically be part of one of those nation-states already and they take a laissez-faire attitude towards civil administration in the case of Bon Bon. The little seen constabulary seem to be all that is needed to protect from the occasional drunken lout, con-man, or thief that crops up.

It's like Monaco or Liechtenstein having a military. Maybe they have a tiny, token one just because they're a nation-state by the slimmest of margins, but lets be honest... What would it actually do?

well...you have a point, bon bon probably has no military interest and diplomatic immunity, like switzerland!

If we want to be perfectly honest, the greatest opposition that Bon Bon would have, would be the Pontiff. The Vatican would certainly have a real big problem with the town and I seriously doubt that any Matrix-esque military personnel would last very long against something like that.

Fortunately, none of that is involved with the comic, so I think the place is safe.

Which leads me to wonder... why all the macho bravado and masculine fist pumping wanting to be introduced into a very non-violent setting?

Seems really unnecessary...

Another reason why BonBon shouldn't have a military.They could as some point become a serious rival to Simon Blue's control of the town.All it would take is an upstart high ranking military officer who has a lust for power.Next thing you know,Simon is in jail or worse case exicuted.I would not want to see a bunch of professional soldiers running roughshot all over the Delight Castle and the surrounding town like you often see in those movies about bad armies taking over small countries.

Yes but, god forbid anything does happen, there are countless numbers of ex-millitary personnel throughout the town, with their own weaponry they are trained with. So in a sense, there is already somewhat of a militia.

as everyone else said bon bon is a peacful place the only trouble i can see happen is a sore loser after gambling.

or a very drunck person other then that i cant see bon bon ever be at war and besides we have are own group of people who will look after the town so bon bon would have no need for a army.
