How do I use quotes?

When you reply to somebody or quote something you should put in the person's name inside the quote...

like this: (COPY THE CODE BELOW AND LEARN FROM IT)
Code: [quote="Rich"]  the text you want to quote here [/quote]

This code will produce...
Rich wrote: the text you want to quote here
Note: you have to put the quote="Rich" and the brackets around quote="Rich" without any spaces.

If you don't put ="Rich" in the quote it looks like this:
Code: [quote]  the text you want to quote here [/quote]

This will produce...
Quote: the text you want to quote here

the simplest thing to do is hit the quote button by the message of the person you're quoting. for example. hit the quote button next to your own message and you'll see it construct the quote tags for you...

Here... I want everybody to learn how to use quotes by example.

Just create tests posts here. and EDIT your post until you get it right..

Code: [quote="roxstar"]HELLO[/quote]

Type exactly that (the green text that appears in the Code: box) and experiment. That code should produce this:

roxstar wrote: HELLO

It is simple. Now you try....

You had it right in your previous posting.

Type your message outside of the [/quote] box....
Meaning type after it....

ok. the trick is DON'T hit the quote button. :-)

JUST TYPE the code. Once you can learn to see how the code works. You can then understand how to use the button.

It is just simply reading the text and understanding the BBCode tags...

For example: This Text is BOLD.

So if you just type this in...
Code: [B]This Text  is BOLD.[/B]

You'll understand how to make things bold... Then you can learn how quotes work. I'm going to revise the instructions in roxstars mesg. I actually wrote those instructions a while back and forgot I could spit code on the screen to explain how to do things.
