As much as I'm drawn to Tearlach's story, It's the Germans who go full out on the domination of the air prior to the British due to Ferdinand Zeppelin's
designs inspired by the Franco-Prussian and American Civil War that leads to the world's first airships.
Not trying to be a correctionist, just thought that some research was needed. |

Well I agree, all that happened in real life but as Bon Bon is fantasy I thought I would take some liberties. Also my fursona is trying to keep the airship out of the British goverment's hands/paws. As well as this, my fursona's development of the 'Daedalus' is not based on hydrogen or helium as a lifting component.
As a side note around 1893 to almost the outbreak of WW1 sightings of airships and contact with their crews were being reported throughout Europe and the United States.
Though no goverment or individuals ever claimed responsibilty for them. Very much like modern day UFO and alien contacts.
It is a disturbing thought that in less then twenty years, in Bon Bon's timeline, millions will be killed in senseless slaughter simply because Duke Ferdinand's driver turns right instead of left. Or will they? Perhaps the European powers will forget their treaties and see sense. |

Naah, this is just a coincidence!
besides the surname is blue
Anyway, I suppose that your occupation is aviator?
Thank you my lady for your posting. I am afraid to say that yes the names and date are a coincidence, the fore names William and Mary being quite popular in Scotland. My fursona is a aviator, but also a inventor and engineer. My sister, Talitha is also a inventor and chemist, she is accompanying me along with my ward Beibhinn to Bon Bon to both further our research and escape the attentions of our goverment. |

This may seem rather forward of me, but while I have your attention. May I ask to be placed on the list for a custom avatar?
If you agree to my request, I can post or email a full discription with references. Thank you for your time. |

| You can post your avatar description in the Avatar Request thread at the top of this section. You'll need to email your contact information to Ronald as well, so he can clear you for an avatar once you've been here for six months. |

Thank you I will do that. I liked your avatar's discription, equines do seem to be rather under repesented in Bob Bon. :D |

Thank you. My choice of a mare was indeed in part to introduce one to Bon Bon, as we haven't seen one yet.
And I do believe that I've complimented you on your fursona before, but I don't think it'll hurt to do it again. :)
I liked that you've chosen one that's a little older than the rest. In fact, your fursona will be the oldest around here.
Just out of curiosity, what inspired you to make your fursona? Like the species, occupation, age and such? |

Thank you for the compliment. As to my fursona, well the age is very close to my own except my fursona is 42 and I have just entered my 44th year.So I already have one foot in the grave  I felt that it would not be efficacious to state that I was any younger. I am afraid that most of today's youth culture passes clean over my head.
As to the species, I saw Disney's animated Robin Hood in the cinema when it came out in 1973  I fell in love with Maid Marion and began to identify with foxes, both being regarded as pests to be delt with hate and sometimes violence. Besides as I have stated before: good looking, cunning, suave and intelligent who would not want to be a fox? 8)
Occupation: Is there anything more dashing then a aviator? As an engineer and inventor I can create the means to escape the mundane and tiring world.
I hope this has helped. If you or any one else have any other questions I will be happy to answer them. :D |

And I look forward to meeting you sir, though my days of dueling with a sword are long past. My trusty service revolver serves me well.
By the way, what 'parachutes'? |

Forgive me Sir, when I stated " What parachutes" I was making a very small joke. Implying that there would be no parachutes in the event of anything going wrong.
As to single pilot planes, well i did say that it would be pushing the science of the time . But why not ask the others on the forum if you can use one. After all as I have stated in my defence this is a fanasy world.
I also thought you would like to see my inspiration for my venture.
