This may be a weird topic, but I began thinking about tails the other day. There are some that I really like, and for different reasons, so I thought that I might as well try to describe them here, and to see what others think of tails.
I've just been thinking of tails on female characters so far, but it's really about all tails. Here are some I like:
Vixens
These tails are definately very nice. They look so soft and fluffy. I've always liked them.
Bunnies
I also like these. They are so small and cute. I like to see them on a character that has shapely and full hips. I believe it's because the tails are so small, they accentuate the figure instead of covering it up.
Mares
I like these too. Instead of having the tail hang down or droop, I like it when they look sort of raised a bit. Especially the ones that are a bit slim at the base and for the first couple of inches, before they become wider and fluffier. I don't know if that's a common way to draw tails on equine characters, but I tend to picture them as slightly raised, when I think of a mare's tail.
Anyone else have some similar or different thoughts on tails? |

I think I'll go with the Vixens tails too :) but I also like the tails of Mary and Violet, they seem to be quite fluffy :)
In general I prefer fluffier tails to slender ones (like Wilsons) |

Well, Labrn and I are a strange breed. Taken from Bucky O'Hare, the Aldaberans don't have tails.
For the females, we have a second set of hair, similar to a horse's tail.
As far as males, they typically are like a lynx, and have no tail. However, a simple feline tail like Ronald's is alright and can be found on them I suppose. |

Here are my personal favorites from characters shown in the comic...
Favorite fluffy tail: Margarete (squirrels rock!)
Favorite thin tail: Betty (mice are nice, too)
Favorite unusual tail: Martin (way to go, beaver-duck-thing!) |

| Chessy adores her big, fluffy tail. It's big enough to hide behind when she fluffs it out! n_n *strokes it and purrs happily* |

| hmm... just realized I didn't list a "favorite short tail", but there aren't that many... I suppose I'd have to list the Champagne twins under that one... |

I don't really know who I'd pick from the comic. There are of course many excellent examples of the fluffy fox tail, but so far only a couple of panels of horse or bunny tails.
I like Lily's and Daphne's because of the way their tails have a lighter tip. |

I have to agree with Tursi. Especially skunk tails with their color patterns. . .
And Chessy's puffy tail. *Pulls her in for a squeeze and a friendly pet of the tail with his own* |

| *he ponders a bit and nods* well, fluffy cuddly tails are always nice, but fur can become itchy on sometimes. I've got to know some scaled females with a really smooth hide. Scaled tails are nice because they are more "solid", yet soft and they allow their owners some nice tricks too 8) |

...unless you're courting a gator lady... their tails are rough enough to play merry heck with the hands of anyone stroking them :D |

Ah yes tails. Myself I have always liked vixen tails as after all my species is a Fox though and I hope we see more of Daphne as we haven't seen her storywise since issue 1. Though I am not completely biased to one species. :) |

Ksathra! Where the heck have you been? We need more "old veterans" coming back in here...
Back to the subject of tails, I find long, whip-like tails to be especially nice on attractive scaley females. Especially smooth scaled tails, like the lovely Zandria from Vixine. Keeled scales and scutes, though exotic, seem a might rough to tender areas, if you catch my drift...
Still, for my money, I'd say the prehensile and furry tails of some monkeys have potential to be perhaps the most delightful... too bad mokeys seem to be a minority among furries. |

Oh I am been around. I have just been in lurk mode and also work and hanging out on Second Life have been keeping me busy as I am a senior manager of one of the now major (least I hope it would be considered major) fur clubs on there.
Getting back on the topic I have to agree about Zandria (Though she's the only character I like in Quest for Fun so far and I still miss the old Vixine comics themselves) as scaled tails are about as nice as the ones with fur. |

Why hello there Ksthara. I think your a face I haven't met yet around here *gives him a delicate smile*
What a man's tail is like doesn't bother me too much. I just don't care too much for those "curious tails" that tend to creep up a lady's dress when she's not expecting it.

*he chuckles softly* That'd be easily done with a tail like mine, but would be absolutely unpolite and rude. It could still come out in handy for some sensual fondling tho, avoiding the hitchy feeling fur can give on sometimes. |

A long fluffy tail is certainly fun for cuddling, even teasing if you're daring enough.
The tail is near the 'bottom' of the list of things I notice on lapine lasses, I wouldn't pass the chance to run my paw over it. :)
In the end, I suppose I am "Equal opportunity tail". Even if it is absent altogether!
While you wouldn't see them in Bonbon, imagine an established Kitsune's dilemma. Nine tails to keep track of would be quite the hassle! |

Chessy, you certainly know how to brighten up someone's day.
Now, not only would that main tails be a hassel, they would get in the way. For some of these working girls, a big and fluffy tail could be a bit a of trouble. Don't know if any of you ever heard of the "Furry Problem" picture set, but it contained a picture for each problem with furry characters and sex. Such as: Sharp claws, skunk spray, static electricity, and extra large fluffy tails. |

That sounds like the picture set that Eric Schwartz did which I still find amusing along with the comic that James Hardiman did with the ups and downs of interspecies relationships. |

| I like tails big, warm, and floofy. Fun to cuddle and tease others with, with mine, and if others have them, I just can't resist wrapping it around me a bit like a lovely comforter. *chuckles and hugs her vulpine tail* |

| Yeah vulpine tails are nice though I haven't teased many with mine except for maybe Violet and the Xenographia mascot in the comics and I hope I get to add more to that list. :) |

| I like expressive tails you know ones that move with however the person is feeling or might wrap themselves around you leg when you are sitting next to them. fluffy ones are great as well |

| The more narrow and sly tails are the mischievous ones. Though you may wrap your tail around yourself or someone else Kommy, its more likely you'd get someone like Labrn or Freeza's tail sliding up your leg like a snake on a branch. *Giggles a bit behind her fan* |

| Personally, I've never really had a preference as to what kind of tail comes my way. I do have some standards, but in general it... wait... you're all talking about... *ahem* nevermind... ::whistling:: |

 I guess it had to be said eventually...
[For our friends who aren't native English speakers or who aren't familiar with American slang, "tail" often refers to... well, basically exactly what every person who visits a place like BonBon is after. Can also be referred to as "chasing some tail", "getting a piece of tail", etc. Becomes an almost literal saying in respect to furries, I suppose...] |
