| After seeing the first page, I have to admit that I find our architect's faces quite amusing in it. |

Who wants to bet he's actually writing down escape plans?
Then again, with such a sexy kidnapper... well, maybe it won't take much for Scarlett to disuade him from any escape plans. And if seduction doesn't work, we already know she's handy with restraints... |

Don't forget Scarlet's expression in the last panel. Her look of confusion is too perfect. |

I'd bet he's noting down all the exits in the place. |

Or figuring out the odds of leaving, without serious "injury". |

Sadly, he writes his notes in the language of the old country where he's from, and its one that she sadly doesn't understand?
Or perhaps he writes in algorithms and scientific terms that only Dr. Kommy or Meech could read.

The way he "hmm"s it sounds that Scarlett's Castle needs quite expensive repairs *g*
Here in Germany we have a (kind of) saying:
If your car breaks down and you let a mechanic look at it, everytime he says "hmm" or "oh.." the amount you thought the repair costs just doubles :D |

| Well,IMO any good architect would design a secret escape route(hidden trap door leading to a hidden passage or hallway that goes out of the castle).Pretty easy to hide during the renovation work. ;-) |

| There would have to be something wrong with him if he wanted to hide from someone as seductive as Scarlett. |

| That does'nt mean she'll kill him, though. And it's said the "vampire's kiss" can be very pleasurable. So it may not be a bad thing if she did. |

| Luckily Scarlet doesn't kill her "victims" with her vampire's kiss :) (and it doesn't turn them into vampires). So maybe the lucky architect will get a very pleasurable payment :) |

We're all assuming Mr. Pilkington even knows the difference between a deadly lethal vampire and the not-so-lethal variety that include Mistress Blut. Just look at the fiction of the time... Varney the Vampire, Lord Ruthven, Carmilla, though they all had varying degrees of romanticism and eroticism to the stories and characters, all of them had a tendency to kill their victims. Of course, Count Dracula had similar elements that were likely inspired by his predicessors, though his book wasn't published until 1897...
Then, of course, there's all the less romantic and more horrifying folktales that all of those stories are based on...
Were I in Mr. Pilkington's shoes during this time in history, I'd definitely be worried about my continued existance. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that he's basically been kidnapped by crazy living gargoyles... |

Ah, your're right. I forgot that he met her the first time in her castle. But I think he'll be more worried that he was kidnapped by the Gargoyles, as far as I can remember Scarlett did nothing so far that shows him that she is vampire-like :) |

| Gotta love Scarlett's expression in the latest page. It's absolutely priceless once she finds out the cost. Guess he really was working and not planning an escape. |

Hmm now that she mentioned that she doesn't have that much money: Does she only have the money she got from her family or does she have some kind of job?
Maybe she'll have to think about earning some extra money, the Delight Castle is not that far away ;) |

| Or perhaps she'll simply bite and turn him so he'll be bound to her to work for free. Wha ha ha hah. *tries her best at an evil laugh* |

| Hmm I think that doesn't work. Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know it is that when she bites her victim there are not the nasty consequences a real vampire's bite has. :) |

Oh, you just wait Shadow. *shakes his head and playfully bumps Mystic, getting a bit of a pout from her*
Hmmm...I can't remember how much of a vampire bat she is. Perhaps she can't turn them, but can still give them a thrill with her bite? I recall Vanessa giving us the details somewhere... |

Ah, I think we just have to take a look at the cover of No. 2, this should get us quite close to the answer  |
