Since the messageboard only takes up to 21 replies per thread-- I'm starting a new thread here....

I've got a Geforce (single monitor output) around here.... Just sucks I have to swap it out- Cuz my Matrox is my "work" video card for the duel support... Might be time to go out and get a new card...

Though your description on your battle last night sounds really cool... Some interesting things in the manual for powers and stuff.... How hard is it to level up to be a flying hero??

Game is cool but already starting to find some annoyance....

1. TOO Many people are playing now... And NOT enough baddies to fight. Slightly annoying when others come and beat up on ur villian that u're trying to kill.... I am sure there is a term for this.... In WarCraft3- it's called "CreepJacking" Taking somebody else's creep while they're creeping....

2. Too much running around all over the place- Needs some sort of teleport.

3. Logging off requires 30 secs? Ugh-

4. It works ONLY on the required video cards mentioned on the box. Nvidia or ATI. Argh. I have a $400 Matrox Parhelia card and it doesn't work. sucks balls. Gonna go get a new Nvidia that supports duel monitor...

I'm on as IcyRon... Haven't figure out how to look for other people yet---
Tho it is cool being a hero and leveling and experimenting/getting powerups/enhancements.
Sucks you can't be a villian and sucks you can't beat the crap out of another hero.
I think they have a pretty good leveling system. For the uniqueness in powers mixing different combos.

There are several versions of the same map - say for instance Atlas Park - in the monorail station you can go to Atlas Park 2 or Atlas Park 3. Same versions of the zone, but different people in them. Copy 1 was full the other night. Areas like Perez park and Steel Canyon have been pretty overwhelming for me, and I'm at level 10!

In the chat bar, type /friend Lil" Red Devil - then click on the friends menu, and if I'm on, it'll show you where I am. You can also chat on the friends channel, and I can see it wherever I am.

Logging out takes 30 seconds so you can't duck out during a fight. No dropping carrier when things get hairy, so you have to remain calm for half a minute.

I'll add you to the friends and look you up!

I got the 9800 Radeon Pro with Duel Monitor support!

Man- this thing rocks! It beats the Matrox card! I am loving the multimonitor feature on this one...

I can have outlook open in the second monitor WHILE playing COH- and use it at the same time too. It's really rad!

Really cool thing is I can work on another desktop screen on the second monitor AT THE SAME time the game is running and logging me off.. 30 seconds wait ain't so bad any more!

BTW- the video card you use really makes a huge difference in the gaming experience... at a very high res. the menu controls/windows can be placed on the screen in such a way to take less 'screen play space'
I'm really loving the COH so far-- Such an ego trip hearing the NPC come up to you saying how amazing and awesome you are....

Tomorrow is E3... Have to stop by COH booth and see what they have in store for future updates...

I read from some folks who are already at E3 that they're working on City of Villians, but aren't sure if it will be a publish, expansion, or stand alone, but the official site says it's an expansion. Here's the official site -

http://www.cityofvillains.com/cityofvillains.htm

I hear they're working on capes, too!

In an upcoming online patch (free) -

New City Zones

The Rikti Crash Site
Peregrine Island, home of Portal Corp
The Sewer Trial Room

Battle the massive beast that dwells in the depths of the city
Instanced outdoor missions

Fight rooftop to rooftop in the neighborhoods of Paragon City
Enhanced indoor missions

Missions with a twist… don’t let your guard down.
Tweak your hero’s costume

Refresh your look to keep yourself in the public eye
New Villain groups

The ultra high-tech Malta Group
The wicked Carnival of Shadows
The super-powered Praetorians

The Portal to alternate dimensions
Humanity’s knowledge of Portal technology was instrumental in defeating the Rikti Invasion.

I found shops that sell Duel Enhancements if anybody is looking for power boost enhancements.

Hit me up. This game is rad!

It's been a long trip, but I finally got Lil' Red Devil up to level 30 in City of Heroes. It seemed like things were getting a little tedious, but the gameplay tossed some new surprises at me upon hitting 30. I've got 3 costumes now, I'm entering new city zones, and got a cool new mission map. Pretty soon, they'll have capes for characters level 20 and up, and cool particle effects for characters level 30 and up. New zones and power sets coming, too. The early game is amazing, but I had some doubts about the mid and upper levels being able to hold me, but I think over time, they're building a really solid multi-player world that'll be a lot of fun for a long time to come.

Here's a few recent shots of Red -

Sunrise in Independance Port

Alone in the Circle of Thorns lair

Outside the walls of Terra Volta

Red visits the local butcher shop

Kind of ironic that I read this thread, then read the most recent "VG Cats" a little bit later.

I don't know who here reads PVP, but the other comic reminded me of this City of Heroes story arc from there.

Starts here and goes about two weeks (14 strips)

Yeah, they have some real funny stuff there too, done by people who have obviously played the game. They poke fun at all the little things that happen there.

The comic on VGcats is funny!!

Keep posting links to other COH comic parody sites..

I read all of the PVPonline ones.. I wish they made more... It was fun checking back everyday to see what new stuff they come up with but they stopped after 2 weeks... argh.....

You have to be a true COH player to come up with these comics... And also a true player to read them and smile. :-)
