Hey Martina,

Lots of new subjects!

We were talking about 80's music. You said you liked Phil Collins uh Peter Gabriel. Any other favourites?
Do you know the Norwgian band Aha. "Take on me"
What are everyone's favourite songs from the 80's?

They had this really cool video with the singer being a cartoon character and changing to a real person.

This is from the video of Peter Gabriels "Sledge Hammer"

Do you like Madonna Martina?

Remember when Sledge Hammar was the big break through in video? It's amazing how far we've come since then.

The 80's did see Madonna.

I liked one of her first songs very much,
Holiday:

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice

Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice
etc.

It was her first hit and the clip (she all in black) is still worth seeing

Hey Martina! I mailed them to you!
I would have to say 'Death Valley Queen' and 'Cruel Mistress' are my favourite to play and of course the bass solo in 'Siesta'!
We actually didn't play at the Irish pub since they had a dart competition game. We played at another bar as rehearsal and some of are close friends dropped in. I think there were about 25 people total. We did have some drinks but well most people here need to work on friday so we didn't drink that much, but it was what we call 'gezellig' :P

LOl, yes many irish bars in the Scottsdale area. The biggest is Maloneys, they have 2 one in Scottsdale and one in Tempe, which is just south of Scottsdale. I went to Maloneys Tempe first, but they have a big college there and it seemed like the whole place was full of college kids which just isnt my scene! :?

So then i headed to Maloneys Scottsdale, and that wasnt much different, so i ended up at the bar next door called Drinx, which was much more my scene

Yeah Dire Straits are cool! Now where's my sweatband :?
I practiced for hours on the Sultans Of Swing solo. Mark Knopfler has a real distinct finger style playing. 8)
Ok let's not forget our dutch native guitar idol Edward van Halen. I think the 80's glamrock was always funny. ::0tongue::

Hey cool ! Walk of Life is my fave track too :P Not really typical of Dire Straits though. Check out the Alchemy album too. I remember seeing them live ... probably the first proper concert I ever went to

Cool you can play Sultans of Swing !

Yeah 80's metal looks so ridiculous now  . We have a band in the UK called "The Darkness". Have you heard of them? I'm still sure they are a parody :?

I grew up in the 80's. Got a closet full of 80's rock, glamrock (like Skid row, Poison, Motley Crue). In Jesse's forum I talked about it. Feeling a bit ashamed having these cd's, but in those days they were top of the bill. Watch MTV 24 hours a day  I sight for sore eyes back then.

I am trying to pull all kinds of classic songs / rock songs from the internet now. Got a couple of cd's filled so far.

And Eddy (Van Halen) is a legend of course. So is Mark Knopfler. I dig every music with guitar in it.

We have The Darkness overhere (Holland). Seems like the music scene goes back a couple decades every now and then. I don't mind.

Yeah "The Darkness" are cool! I saw them at Lowlands festival last year. They have a very good stage act, plus they really know how to play they're no joke.
Oh and Malcom Young poses are always cool 8)

They still know the most impotant thing of playing music. Having fun while doing it! :P
