Violets past?

You know I've always been very curious, despite being a very frequent character, Violet's background and past there isn't a whole lot of info to her. I don't recall getting any background on her aside from her being Betty's best friend. But I do think there is a lot of potential with her, like exploring why she's in Bonbon why is she in this line of work, or how did she meet Betty. I think one instance that really interested me was at the near end of the second chapter in which she expresses pity for William having "changed" him. Could there be romantic interests there or is it all physical? What do u guys think on the matter?

When i first joined i pondered the exact same thing. And i was told that Violet was originally to be married to someone she didn't love, so she left her parents and her home to make a new life for herself in the town of Bon Bon. It is there that she met Betty and became an employee at the Delight Castle.

If that's true I would love to see that touched on or heck maybe ms. Vanessa will do a little side story for her characters who aren't touched on as much. I think that would make an interesting read and give the characters more depth! :D

Look in the Work in Progress area page 9. There are some pictures Vanessa did. One with a sad Violet in a wedding dress and one with a few panels of her parents and a suitor.

Oh wow that's interesting, it's rare that you see Violet in a really sad state so this really does explain a few things. Thanks so much m'lady :D

Things would have turned out quite differently if Violet stayed and got married. Good thing she didn't though. :)

Explanations time :)
Violet has a past, and I wrote a chapter about her, telling how she came to Bon Bon. It 's all written in 2006.

When the site has yielded good results I invested my personal gains (I mean my profits and savings, my shares) in commissioning this chapter to a freind, an Italian artist.
She drawn the cover and the first 6-8 pages. Then she stopped, because an Italian publisher has offered her another opportunity and she left me the chapter pending.

I then gave instructions to continue her work to two other Italian artists ( a couple) to color the pages of the first girl, and continue drawing the chapter.
Same story. :roll:
After some pages they decided to leave (even with the extra money for a page not finished) because they wanted to make an own new comic project .

Then I asked to M-Lock, the author of Randy, but had some difficulty in inking, so I commissioned a professional artist of Walt Disney Italy, which was one of the inker of official Mikey Mouse Magazine: TOPOLINO.

So we went on for a while ', but we still lacked a colorist.

Then I commissioned a friend of Marco who was a student of a famous Italian comic artist that now works in France. He decided to do a test before , on the first page, I mean he wanted to recolor it :roll: .
I said "OK..."
Payed of course because I always paid all, so I payed twice for the same page... sigh.

It took three months....

He needed THREE MONTHS to color a page! :shock: WHA...fired.

And at the end ... there was a big trouble and crisis in Italy, the Disney artist lost his job and he had to work in a post office and no longer had time to inking for a while :(
The site did not earn more as a time and I'm run out of savings (and my patience) because this chapter was really unlucky ! :( I have fifteen pages, inked and colored by at least six different artists. What do I have to do? It 's so difficult to find serious and steady artists? :roll:

But especially now I have no more money aside for commission to finish this story for you. This is why I always ask you to support PBB with some advertising :) I mean, if you like PBB spread the link ;) .

We hope to return to past earnings to be able to recruit other artists again and offer more stories. Currently there are only me, I do everything by myself and I can't also work on Violet comic. But believe me, it is really interesting and nice ^_^ .
But I'll keep it locked until I'll can finish it all because I do not want to waste it and leave it pending in pirates sites after all this mess and money spent :P

Trying to bring a dream to life is hard. It's even harder when most people only want to get something for free.

It's a real shame that many people, today, have become so apathetic to the world they are a part of that their only thought is about themselves and what they want. Is it really so hard to comprehend the concept of supporting something you love? And even the economy itself can be such a hindrance.

But, I'm so glad you have continued to work on this comic, Vanessa. And as long as you do, I will stay here and support you and this incredible creation, even if I'm the only one. I truly hope that you will be able to see it finished. :D

If you ever need someone who could help with drawing anything PBB related, don't be afraid to look me up. I would be more than happy to help out as far as drawing is concerned. :)
