Twilight of an Age: Dusk (OOC)

This is the Out Of Character discussion thread for the ToA side story, Dusk (... I kinda like that working title). You can read the introduction to the world setting in Twilight of an Age, page 1. It is a medeival planet where magic is strong, yet prophecies of an ancient forgotten race threatens all furdom. As a mysterious darkness engulfs all life it touches, champions battle on where armies have failed...

I'm going to make a new character for this story. Let's discuss what we want to accomplish... I mean quest.

if we can get some more peoples i honestly liked the last side story idea i could use the grand berserker since hes still there or even make a new character altogether

What was the story idea, Adept? And when does it take place in relation to A_T's storyline?

By the way, I encourage all of you to explore the mythologies you created for your main characters. I have an idea concerning my new furry hero already.

A_T's ToA world map has a Mage Academy my straight up wizard will come from. No, I'm not doing a Gandalf remix. :P

Dro, you should tell your stories of Barberia here. I only did it once, but your posts are like the CNN of ToA. Phillip is attacking the whole known world, after all.

Okay. Since the side story is an action drama about how the War between Devas and Daemons affects everyone during Phillip's global attack... Am I to assume each of us will find a way to get involved?

Indeed. Since both groups are fighting one another, they'll not exactly be focused on Phillip's forces. And once those papers get shown in the two tribes... It can only spell disaster. In fact... I can imagine how this would go...

A Devas guard was on patrol, keeping a sharp eye out for signs of trouble or dangerous Daemons that had slipped into the town. The gecko then caught sight of a large group of townsfolk gathered in the public square. Someone appeared to be speaking to the crowd, his voice echoing in the air.

"Must be one of the priests giving a sermon or something. I better check this out..."

As the guard drew closer, the speaker's words became clearer to him. However, what he heard wasn't the familiar hymns of the Devas scripture.

"Dear Brothers and Sisters! I stand before you with an unyielding truth! A truth that the Dominions and Virtues have hidden from us all!"

The guard tensed up from the speaker's words, standing outside of the crowd. He could hear some of the crowd members whispering and talking amongst themselves.

"Yes, dear Devas... We've been told time and again about how the goddess Oracia made us in her image and that Cherna and her Daemons are abominations we must fight! But let me ask you something, dear listeners... How is it that their kind can be brought to our side such as the Grand Berserker and that our kind can be tempted and warped into their kind?"

At that moment, the guard noticed a gloved hand thrust into the air, clutching some papers in its hand.

"These papers, provided by the Rovers, tell us the actual truth! They speak of the true origins of the Devas and Daemons, as well as Oracia and Cherna! But! They also speak of the one before us... The one called Astrid!"

A collective gasp echoed from the crowd as the guard watched closely. Several other guards had arrived at the scene as well, keeping a sharp eye on the crowd. The gecko clenched his teeth out of nerves...

Alright... Since this RP is taking place at roughly the same time as the other, I'm going to use the info on the Daemon King and the fall of the capital Jormungandr to start.

Also, I kind of have a map of the world from my HexPoint fursona's point of view... We should use maps to track our travels.

I'll get to typing my idea/ first post today.

I will try to take part but I don't know how good I will be I honestly haven't rped for such a long time

hmmm I may just use my old person when I was first part of this and try to make my post's somewhat worth reading and entertaing compard to some of the great writers that are part of this

i'll work on my charter now and see how it shapes out I would more likely to be the last to post so I can get the know how and back to how this rp works out

other then that I don't know how good I will be or even if I will make a good player

ToA is in the middle of a raid on Wessera (remember A_T's maps?)...
If you can wrangle your characters from there do so.
I won't bring my HexPoint in for the sake of consistency.

ToA: Dusk, Character Profile

Name: Kevril Strifetamer
Age: 40
Species: Devas, Welwitsch Bat
Racial Abilities: Flight, Healing Touch, Echolocation
Fur Color: Reddish-brown. Black spots along wing joints and tail, with solid black membrane. Devas feathers mimic his bat wing colors.

Faction: The Mage Academy
Employment: Head Cook.
Role: Wizard (5th Level)
Weapons: Mage staff, quartz ring, double-edged knife, expanded spell book.
Clothing: Long robe and hooded cloak. Both are green with gold embroidered runes along the trim.
Armor: Wizard's robe of protection

Background: Kevril is an orphan of the Devas & Daemon War, having been rescued and raised by the nuns of the Order of Saint Bethesda. When he came of age, Kevril journeyed to the island known as The Mage Academy where he soon became an adept wizard. His creativity with alchemy also earned Kevril the title of Head Cook at the Mage Academy. Also, because he was born with two pairs of wings, bat and Devas, his physiology is much different than most, and his natural flight is affected. Kevril is a linguist in three languages, Aordafian common, Deva, and Daemon.

Personality: Kevril is bright, thoughtful and kind to everyone, yet stern and strict with those closest to him. Growing up under the care and tutelage of devoutly faithful women, Kevril is a gentleman, and sensitive to the needs of others. He has learned to use alchemy and offensive magic to defend the needy on the war-zones of Aordaf and Lordain. Kevril's goals are to learn the power behind the Reavers, but ultimately to unite Devas and Daemon alike.
