Pokemon X and Y Mega Evolutions

Normally, I wouldn't really be all that interested, but somehow, this caught my attention, especially for a pokemon game. There is a new feature where pokemon can undergo what is known as a Mega evolution. Nothing is concrete as to what it is or how it is attained, but what people do know is that it is some kind of super form that certain pokemon can achieve under a condition that nobody knows of yet. If any of you remember that Mewtwo lookalike awhile back, well, apparently it was one of those supposed 'Mega Evolutions'.

As far as I have seen, Mewtwo, Lucario, Blaziken, Absol, and a couple of others have been confirmed to have these new forms. How many more, if not all pokemon might have them, though that is highly unlikely.

My guess is that they possibly might be temporary and only happens when you either hold an item or it happens during the battle themselves and it triggers under certain conditions. Think of it like the midbattle pokemon evolutions that happened in the anime, but this time it happens in the game.

it would be epic,..... that nwould make me buy the new pokemon if there was a new way to eve=ole pokemon.

Honestly, its the best thing they have done in awhile. It gives people yet another option to consider when they build their teams.

It's triggered by using a new item called a mega stone and only lasts for one battle per use, seen journals on FA about it.

Personally I feel it's just a rip off digimon.

Are you sure its a single use item? It sounds more like a held item.

it is a held item on the realse of game like B2 AND W2 if you go on wifi mestry gift and download

you can get a torchick witch holds a item called blazeikenite witch once it reaches it final evolution and used in battle

it will evolve into it's mega form witch is temporay for the battle only

all mega pokemon have a special held item to evolve

lucario has to hold lucarionite mewtwo holds mewtwonite and so on so forth but it has been confiremded if you can find these items in game or of you have to trade mesrty gift or do a special/seeart mission in the game to find them

I couldn't say but most like not, just meant that you can't keep the form, and probably only works once per battle.

I knew it was a temporary. I was actually wondering for the longest time if they would ever have a super form for pokemon. I am actually glad that the mewtwo image we saw was not another terrible evolution concept.

True but at the same time they could have come up with something more original then just sticking mega in front of the name.

I would have just gone with Megalution since it seems like a more original name rather than just sticking two words together and boom, you have another concept. Bad naming aside, this actually has me excited to even get X and Y now. I'm not all crazy about it all being in 3D, but it could be far worse.

Its already confirmed that 2 pokemon are already food related items in this generation. I can't remember what it was, but apparently its a theme that Gamefreak is running with.

as for the meags evo pokemon well some are really cool like mega charizard mega blastiose and mega mewtwo X


yes they confired mewtwo will be getting two mega forms one each exulisve to X and Y

but then look at mega ampharos all they did was put a wig on it and make it a dragon type and then mega absol emo flap style hair

the makers of pokemon are rying to make it new and freash to keep the series going

also they made a big flaw by making steel pokemon no more resitent to ghost and dark attacks so pokemon is trying new things and are hitting and missing

I thought darkness type would have been enough for what they were going for to balance out the types. Guess they wanted to make more drastic changes and just hit like there was no tomorrow. I'm not too thrilled with the fairy types. I thought for sure they would have made the 'solar' or 'light' types. But instead we get a childish type that makes it no less more entertaining than watching that bear from the commercials that talks about soft linens. Granted, I will give it points that we will finally have something to use now. Hopefully the fighting types will have a new weakness to contend with that can also fight dragons to boot.

Well... To be truthful, the franchise is geared souly for kids, the reason why they're selling the daft 2DS at the same time. They don't care of the older fans, they just wish they leave the nest and make them go away, so that the space can be left for our generation.

well the fairy type was basickly made to be strong againt dragons as dragons weakness is ice and dragon


but most of the time drasgons can learn some kind of fire type moves to deal with ice types and dragon againt dragon was just stupid

so fiary was made to counter this

also poision types is strong againt fairys to give them something to be used for as pouon is strong againt grass and other then that there useless

as for the mega pokemon meh some are kinda cool others yeah we could have gone without COUGH MEGA AMPHAROS MEGA ABSOL COUGH

and then mega mewtwo havein g two evo exulisve to both versions is kinda cool


the only thing I find kinda stupid is

the litral start of the game you can get litrely 4 fire types right at the start

with one of your charaters getting there gen 6 starter from a friend if ya pick fennekin there ya first fire

also at the start the new professer will give you a gen 1 starter if ya pick charmnader theres the second fire

mstery gift will give ya a torchick theres the third fire

and in the grass at the start you can catch a normal/fire type theres the fourth so my reaction to that is WHY........ JUST WHY?

To hell with the younger generation! I say they do a remake of the third gen after X&Y. :l

Also, they could have just made another evolution for certain Pokemon instead of doing this mega thing. Besides, Mewtwo is legendary. He shouldn't be able to evolve. >:l

Well, new information has surfaced, and only about a week before the game's release. News of Charizard having 2 Mega evolutions have been confirmed. The X version actually is classified as a Fire/Dragon type, Has a black, leathery appearance, sports spikes on his shoulders and a blue flame beard, along with his tail's flame being blue as well. The Y version is the same dragonesque appearance that we saw upon the Kanto starter's release.

So the question now is, because of what we have seen with Mewtwo's mega evolutions and now Charizard's, how many more can we expect to see? Will every mega evolution be dependent on which version we get, and can they be placed between games? Will all of them have multiple versions based on said versions? Maybe not.
