A Cannonball Run? (RP Proposal & OOC)

One of my favorite B movies is "Cannonball Run 2", starring a bunch of 1984 comedians who illegally race across the country for $2mil. You can thank this guy for making it happen:

If you could stand the movie and/or if you like the real life concept, I'd like to rp it using both formulas. I also have a flashy borderline sci-fi version in mind for a second race if this goes well.

Proposed Rules:

1) Each player has at least two cannonballers (racers) in one motor vehicle. I don't care if it's a moped, a Ferrari concept, or the biggest truck ever made - it stays on the road. [For example, Noble_Thorne can't turn into a jet and fly to the finish line. It would disqualify the racer.]

2) The first race is from New York City to Los Angeles, with five ridiculous checkpoints in between (TBD), and any the consequences the racers may face from it being illegal and obvious. Skipping any checkpoints disqualifies the racer.

3) I will put obstacles in your path, but you get to resolve them... using comedy. You can pack heat, kick ass, and crash ugly... but everyone in the story has Wile E. Coyote Syndrome. If you role play attacking the Highway Patrol, the racer is disqualified.

4) There is a subplot. It's stupid as fuck, too! But a lack of involvement in this abysmal pit stop is a lack of sportsmanship, and I'll personally run your racer off the road for it like Mario Kart.

5) Drive as fast in furious anger all you want, this is still a turn based game. You may assume that everyone that started in NYC will arrive in LA at the same time. You must also remember that you're role playing a race, and there's only one grand prize. I have ideas on how to determine the winner fairly, so losing in a fun manner is up to you.

K) Yeah, I've thought of calculating real-time to make this rp seem about a week long. But it would imply that anyone who has real life shit to deal with (like burglary did to me) would naturally fall to the back of the line. That's not cool.... How about having the month of February to start and finish this thing?

1. Would this be a realistic setting? i.e. would we be required to mention key landmarks, roads and other such things? If this is the case, what happens if someone participating has no fracking clue what roads in in America or what landmarks are where? What measures are you taking to ensure a fair go for all those who lack the neccessary knowledge of the area between the two stated locations?

2. I'd be stunned to see this reach the end of page 2 within a month considering the reliability of posters at this current time.

1) What tech level are the players allowed to use?
2) Are weapons such as missile launchers, lasers allowed?
3) Are tracked/hover vehicles allowed?

4) Can I role-play large breasted females?

@AD: Yay! You're in.

@Silvador: 1) Now, we won't be using Googly Maps but I will give some real life details on the highway distances and area for each checkpoint, including landmarks and obstacles. How the racer gets through all that is made up by the poster [ad lib], keeping in mind that every racer will be deviated off track by the subplot and end up in LA at about the same time[script], then race to the finish line[virtual calculator].

@Tearlach: 1) High-Tech, sir. You can use a James Bond car, a Transformer, or something you find in the latest theoretical science magazine.
2) See #1, but banana cream pies are better. And don't attack rp cops. That's a challenge rule.
3) Military grade tanks are fine, but a hovercraft feature can only be used as a temporary gadget. Keep the tracks and tires on the road. No mounts or flying machines allowed.
4) A racer showing off their delicious cleavage will thwart most traffic tickets, and call a lot of attention to their vehicle. Cleave wisely.

@Interested Furries: I will have a racer, but will not be counted as such because I will be dead last, period. A 'virtual calculator' will be used to determine the winner at the appropriate time in this rp. This means that you may have to role play your Mach-5 losing to a circus unicycle, and you have to go out Wile E. Coyote style (or better).

Just remember that there are rules to follow, and that even though we'll be role playing a silly action packed road race, the winner will be determined by a calculator.

Also, if there aren't enough steady players then this story won't be told. So far, I could say that we have four (4) Cannonballers, but we need a steady SIX.

If we could bribe one furry female to role play here like only a woman can that would be phenomenal. Just sayin'.
