Best Indipendant Game.
In other news...
Skyrim took out Game of the Year (no surprise there) even with all its glitches.
And Legend of Zelda was first to be inducted into the Video Games Hall of Fame. Check this shit. LoZ beat out Mario, Sonic and more to be the FIRST game [series] to go into the Video Game HoF.
Command and Conquer: Generals.... MOTHER FUCKING 2?! God, I wish I didn't suck so bad at RTS games. I really enjoyed Generals (what I could play of it). |

| I've never really been into the MGS series (primarily cos I had no clue what it was about and the very little I did see of it didn't interest me a whole lot), but I have to admit, this looks pretty fuckin' sweet. Kinda' makes me want to see him go toe to toe with Dante. :twisted: |

3. Cobalt is only published by Mojang. Oxeye are the creators of Cobalt. Cobalt is also only still in Aplha but is also awesome. |

The controls are a little bit awkward but simply enough once you get used to them. At the moment there is no way to rebind them but as the game is still in Alpha, I'm sure that feature will be added later. There is currently no campaign missions, but the option is there so some will no doubt get added. There is a capture the flag and deathmatch game witch you can play. I don't think it has online support yet, but playing against an NPC has helped me get used to the controls and is quite enjoyable. The survival mode could use some work as it's VERY difficult to last more than a couple of minutes.
The fighting is built around 3 main "classes". You have thrown weapons, ranged weapons (guns) and melee. You can pick up and switch between the weapons and attack with your selected weapon. By holding down the jump or uck button you can essentially auto aim. There are also a couple of advanced techinques that take a bit of learning to figure out but are not entirely essential. When you are being attacked, time slows down and to help you react. There is also a roll feature which can help you escape or even reflect some attacks back at your opponent. Explosives can't be reflected with rolling, but they can be reflected by punching the incoming explosive at the right time. As you typically have to change to melee and then time the hit right, this is very difficult.
Once again, it is still in Alpha and as such very incomplete. But I been enjoying very much the time I have spent playing one on one in deathc matches against the computer. |
