Well, its an hour and a half till black friday sales begin at my local Gamestop. I have a 25 dollar discount card for my game rewards that I've been building. Coupling that with the fact that my dad and I going half in half so we have a Blu-Ray player for the media room, I will only have to pay about 100 dollars myself.

The PS3 with 160G costs 250.

Well, I enjoyed Playstation models in the past. Now that the PS3 has more diversity in the games department, I'll be able to enjoy it more.

Which my dad will probably use later on. Too bad that they got rid of the backwards compatability like the first gen ones did. Even the one I had though could'nt save PS2 or PSX data.

I advise on buying a system that is packaged with a game or two seens they tend to be the best deal. Also dont worry about buying a PS3 with a lower amount of hard drive space seens you can always up-grade the harddrive with eny laptop SATA harddrive (just dont forget to back up your data on an external USB drive before doing so.)

I bought one with a game and movie attached to it. I was'nt too picky on which one considering it was the last new system they had left.

Don't bother, I find these things expensive and easily hacked, it's best getting an Xbox360 or Wii, they may not be much, but they're better than nothing!

I'm not going to set up an acount with them. I bought it mostly for my dad so that we can watch Blu-rays. Plus I can play a few games online.

Nothing Multiplayer-wise. Maybe Disgaea 3 and 4 as I have yet to beat those. Plus a few others that I can't quite think of that Iknow I would want to try. I mostly used the PS as an RPG drive anyways.

You still need to make a PSN account to play games online. Also one game that you can download and play for free that i would sugest DC Universe Online.

Whoops, sorry, I meant that I can play games offline, not online. My mistake.

I'm open to suggestions Caroline. I know one of the games I'd love to grab a hold of is that Valkyrie game.

Meh, I think I may be slowly growing away from multiplayer lately. Just have'nt found the right people to actually play with, even in XBL.

I have'nt played that in awhile. Been Playing BF and MW3 lately too, though I traded those in because of a lack of friends to play with. I've been playing Skyrim, but that is a single player game.

((Rune174,

What sorts of games do you normally play on your console systems? Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 4 are both fun, strategy-RPGs; however, they do play a spot differently from each other. And... both have quirks that you have to play the game to really see them. I will say, if you're getting Disgaea 3, you might as well get the full-on, DLC stuff for it too. Adds a whole lot of post-game fun. And it has more Raspberyl... and who doesn't like Raspberyl?

But... for starters, here are some interesting games. Not all of them are the cRPG type.

Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's Batman... being awesome. Nuff said.

Batman: Arkham City. Take Arkham Asylum... and increase it's power logrithmically. Nuff said.

Catherine. A quasi-eros game on the PS3. Atlus is taking a huge risk with this. Solid voice-acting, weird gameplay, and an intriguing style add to this game.

The Orange Box. Halfife 2, with all its sub-parts, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. How could you go wrong?

Atlier Rorona. An alchemists game. Highly detailed, and worth a look-see if nothing else.

Hyperdimention Neptunia. A parody strategy-RPG. Not the most indepth, and it does have a flawed combat system that allows for gamer-exploits. But... it is kinda fun to see how they poke fun at the genre.

Red Dead Redeption: Undead Nightmare. Guns... check. Cowboys... check. Wild West... check. And ZOMBIES... SUPER CHECK! This is actually a pretty fun, stand alone game. You don't need RDR to play it. It's pretty cool, and you can actually do stuff like get on the rooves (sp?) of buildings to shoot/escape from the legions of the undead.

Brutal Legend. Any game that puts UMLAUTS over everything has its awesome factor bumped up to 11. ELEVEN! Anyway, the game is fun, quirky, and has this humor factor that I enjoy. And it has Jack Black too. How can you go wrong with that? AND it has about the coolest, sweetest, most bad-assest, music soundtrack... EVAR! If nothing else, the game has like... $600 worth of the best metal music in it.

So... there's a start. I have a few others I could suggest too. ))

Since when did each Disgaea game ever play the same?

((Rune174,

Well, some things in Disgaea don't change much. Weapons tend to be similar... that is, axes do a ton of damage to one guy... swords do good damage and have a variety of uses... mages and clerics need a ton of mana to get really good at what they're suppossed to do. Support-classes tend to be under-rated until later in the game... the Senate/School Board needs a ton of bribes or intimidation to get to vote in your favor... people in the same group, or sitting next to each other are more reliable in combo attacks... that sort of thing. Geo Tiles can make/break an entire board.

So... while some of the combat mechanics have changed, some haven't. That's the jist of what I was saying. ))

I have'nt seen the new games yet, but I still look forward to seeing them in action. But you pretty much answered my question that none of the Disgaea games ever played completely the same. I may go download FF games V and VI.
