I got to Uni in the end, thanks to support, and overdrafts.
I'm getting on well, and trying my hardest to stay on top of things.

My student finance came through, but only half of it, so I was a grand down on tuition fees, which, as anyone who's been to Uni, will know it's a nightmare. I've managed to get my bank to give me a £500 overdraft, so, that helped, I sold some stuff and I'm trying my absolute hardest to get a Job.

It's tough. Right now I'm negative £200-£300, and there is nothing I can do, but go without food, which is fine. I'm trying to lose weight anyway. I am trying hard to sell things, and enjoy my course at the same time.

Stupid finances, They really get in the way of enjoying time with my flatmates, and Uni.

Hopefully, I'll get it sorted soon.
Just thought i'd pop in with my lifes details..

Luna x

It will get better, my best friend here in the US had the exact same problems, she had to go with no food as well (As much as I highly disapprove of that) it was touch and go, since she had no job at the time either, she probably wouldn't of made it if it wasn't for her other friends helping her out and me supporting her, I basically felt useless, like now, all I can really do to help you is support you as well, I wish the best for you, good luck and never give up hope luna! :) :) :)

As a medical technician I highly advise against not eating to lose weight. The body goes into survival mode and begins to store and hold on to the fat and instead begins to eat the lean muscle mass from your body before it eats the fat.If you do lose any weight by this method, you'll gain it back and possibly more once you resume eating again. If you want to lose weight reduce(not stop)your caloric intake and exercise more.

You should eat something at the very least. It's not healthy to not eat anyhintg at all. Sure'll you can afford a few dollars for a sandwich or a packet of chips or something.

That's good. Perhaps in a week I will be able to shoot some dollars your way to help you out. It might not be much, but it should help and hopefully you'll spend it on essentialls, like food. :)

Average walking speed for a person is about 5kph I believe, so... 7 miles should work in to around an hour and a half for a fit person. And don't tell me you're not fit cos you look anything but unfit in your photos. You're certainly fitter than I am.

((Luna,

Consider yourself "lucky". I don't often post to... "pitty me" sorts of posts.

Anyway, something to consider, what about working at school? Get one of those student-work-visa thingies. At CWRU, my alma mater, a lot of the students had student-work. It doesn't pay much, but... it pays some.

7 miles is a long distance to walk. Average walking pace is more akin to ~3 miles / hour. So... you're talking a two hour walk. Four round trip.

As for food, you might be able to apply for British Foodstamps or something. You could also move from the High-end grociery stores to either the farmer's markets or the Aldi's-level stores. Usually farmer's markets are a spot cheaper than a grociery, and might let you streatch your dollar further. Or... grow your own food. Get a garden started. Seeds are fairly priced, and you might be able to save a spot of coin in the long term.

Along those same lines, you could get your clothes/books/furniture from places like The Salvation Army or other similar-thrift stores. It might be retro, but a warm-coat is a warm coat.

Anyway, just some thoughts. ))

Ok just got done talking with my friend, probably useless info but buy the least expensive food you can find: Ramen noodles, pbj, etc...it was those things that literally kept her alive, she was in much worse conditions, she lived in her car, couldn't get a job for a year, under extreme debt...it may or may not be good info, sorry but thats all I've got... :(

Half-term is coming up, and so of course is Christmas. As I posted before You may be able to get a part-time job in a bar/pub or at Christmas a supermarket, at a minimum of £5/$7 an hour it is not to be sniffed at.

Yes, of course. I went round, and managed to find a few vacancies for jobs, and applied, but with thousands of students fighting for jobs, it's tough. I'll fight to get a job though. I'm trying my very best.
