Will mine is John Carpenter The Thing

and hearing about another one coming this year Oct 31
sounds pretty neat and it's a prequel not a remake

so it's a "star wars episode 1"

I love horror movies mostly the old ones 90's, 80's, 70's to black and white films

But some what "The Thing" is my Favorite monster
maybe becuase it can become your "friend" when it isn't
oh and Snow and Horror is a good mix and match that is hard to pull off to make it good.

I can actually confidently say that it is my favourite horror/sci fi as well, though I don't know what to think about the prequel. It might end up being good but something tells me it will be a complete fuck up.

John Carpenter's The Fog. The original not the "grab the money and run" re-make. I just have too many others that run a very close second.

The aliens movies are great. I'm looking forward to the prequel. :)

I personally have a weakness for zombie movies. I've seen all the Resident Evil movies, and the Romero movies, and I also love zombie comedies like Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. :D

((To me, the best part about Aliens is how they made the Aliens frightening. Not only did they model them after HGR's weird blends of science-and-life, but they also made the Colonists not helpless. When introduced to Hadley's Hope, the Colonists actually tried to defend themselves. They used explosive charges, personally owned pistols (small arms fire), and baracaded off sections of the compound. Did it work? No... however, unlike a lot of horror / suspense movies, the Colonists were competent enough to consider ways to defend themselves.

Anyway, my favorite horror move is a classic. The Shinning. A slow, deliberate, twisting spiral of a burn that, once you realize what is going on, you're already turning on all the lights in your house and terrified out of your mind.

Yep... The Shinning is my top horror movie. ))

A very good film is the Haunting, the 60's original. It is truly terrifying simply because you never actually see any thing. It is all sound and implied terror.

I do not really enjoy modern "Zombie" movies. However I did like the Evil Dead series of films. Especially Evil dead II and Evil Dead III: Army of Darkness.

I love that series. It's really well made and overall just awesome.

I also read the comic. It's a fantastic concept, though I'm starting to think that the story is a bit too dark and grim.

I agree, the show did follow some parts of the story, but I think its starting to make its own arc so far. The comic did turn a bit too gruesome for me to follow, I just hope the show continues on as I have yet to see any more advertisements for a second season.
