Rules for using characters/fursonas in stories?

I've been thinking of getting back to writing a bit. I've been writing a diary for Constance, but I'd like to start over and do some shorter stories. These would take place in Bon Bon and would include other characters and locations. They'll all be told from Constance's view, as they'll be written as if they're part of her diary, so it'll be about how she experiences in Bon Bon.

I don't really know what the rules are for something like that. Vanessa has created a lot of characters, and I might want to make use of some of them, as it's nice to have a visual reference, but I don't know if that's allowed.

I should add that most of the stories(if I ever get to writing more than one or two), will feature sex in one way or another.

Honestly, it might not be too bad if you don't directly or indirectly reference the main characters of the story. If its in miss Vanessa's universe, I'm sure she won't mind as long as you don't sell the story or something.

I definitely wouldn't use the any of the main chacacters. It's some the minor characters I might want to use. Also the Delight Castle and the town itself.

I also would like to use some fursonas.

Considering the more-or-less free reign that we have over the girls of the Katalog of Pleasures, I would assume that there is no real restrictions as far as non-canon characters go. Also, I would see this as a great way to really give some of the comics' background characters a lot more life, which always something people can appreciate.

I could imagine Samuel's career putting him in a position to cross paths with Constance, but I could imagine they wouldn't have much of an in-depth relationship, and probably not a romantic one. Not that would be anything to do with Constance's age, but more of Samuel's general respect for women and a lack of desire for a meaningful commitment.

Jeg vil helt klart overveje at bruge hende i en historie. Hendes profession giver hvert fald gode muligheder for at hun kan dukke op på et eller andet tidspunkt. Måske hende og Constance kan blive veninder. for jeg kunne også godt tænke mig at skrive om nogle mere dagligdags ting, og ikke bare om sex.

You're probably right. It's really the background characters I'm the most interested in, as I wouldn't be intruding on the story, and I'd be more free to come up with a personality for them.

Absolutely. Constance needs lots of pretty dresses, so there's definitely a chance that they could meet. :)

Helt sikkert. Hun er meget sød/venlig og kan blive venner med alle... (selvom hun kan sparke deres røv med sin sværdkunst). Hun har et stort hus i udkanten af byen, hvor hun også har sit atelier og en stor have med sjældne blå roser. Hun både maler, tegner, designer og er skulptør.
Husk at hun er næsten lige så høj som Constance. :wink:

The difficulty in finally finding the proper translator for Welsh makes me want to learn Gaelic, lol.

Okay, I've decided to give it a try. I don't know how much I'll actually get written, but I hope to get something done. Hopefully I'll also be able to use various characters for my stories. And I'll stay clear of the main characters, and any fursonas I haven't been given permission to use.

I think I'll create a thread in the Fursona section, for all my general thoughts on this project, and where people can also give me feedback, make suggestions, give permission to use their fursonas and such. That'll probably be the best place.

I think I'll give each story its own thread, which should probably be in the joke/story section.

Does this sound reasonable, or will they be overlooked this way?

I do think that the story forum is sadly neglected by most members as the gaps between postings and the amount of viewings will testify to.

It is. That's why I'm a little worried that threads there might be overlooked, but I really don't know where else to put them. In my first story thread, I put it in the Fursona section, but I don't want to clutter it with multiple threads. :(

I have decided how to properly do this. I'm going to make a thread in the fursona section, for all talk, like I've mentioned earlier. I'll post the stories in the story section, and put the links to them in the main thread in the fursona section. I'll also post the stories on furaffinity, as sugegsted to me by Miss Scorpia(for those who can't read Danish :wink: )

I've finished the first journal entry and posted it in the story section. I've also started the "support" thread in the fursona section.

I don't know how best to do it on Furaffinity, though. I don't like the way you have to upload or download stories. I wonder if it'll work as journal entries instead.

Det er også mest fordi jeg synes det er lidt upraktisk, og så foretrækker jeg selv bare at kunne læse teksten, frem for a downloade den som et word dokument. Jeg er nok lidt doven. :lol:

I'm not really familiar with that site, and don't really know if it's something for me. It looks like there's a lot of things there I don't like, but that can be said for Furaffinity as well. I do like having a profile on FA, though, and being able to follow some people I know.
