|
|
There have been many discussions and royal avatar's professions reflecting the day to day life and running of the the town of Bon Bon and the Pleasure Palace it's self, but as yet no one has mentioned a very mundane and yet essential service for both of the town and more importantly the Pleasure Palace.
A LAUNDRY!
Most of the citizens would of course wash and dry their own dirty clothes and linen, however some where like the Pleasure Palace and the wealthier households would sent the laundry out to large launderettes, mostly run by Chinese immigrants to the towns and Cities.
And So Ladies and Gentleman I present to you Wun Hung Lo's Chinese Laundry. |

Tearlach,
I always take my laundry to Fu Leng... though he does charge a spot more to get out blood stains.
((And super-mondo-bonus-cool points if anyone gets the reference... well, check that. Super-mondo-bonus-cool points for the obvious reference... Epic-Super-Mondo-delux-bonus-collectors-edition points for those who get the obscure reference. )) |

((Tearlach,
Well... I'll give you a "hint". Both have to do with "Fu Leng" )) |

Sorry finally had to Google it. I have heard of the Five rings RPG but never played or even picked up a copy of it. Is it actually based on Chinese myths and legends or purely fictional?
Looks interesting. |

((Point goes to Shadow Twisted. Well... I thought it would be more obscure than that.
Anyway, the reference I was making was too the Deadlands card game. I don't remember what the card did, but I remember the artwork. It was "Fu Leng's Laundry", and the sign in the window said that they could get out any stain... and hastily scrawled underneath it was 'blood stains extra'.
Tearlach,
Well... not really. L5R's mythos was more... oriental. Meaning, while heavily influanced by Japan and China, there are a number of other influances, such as Korean, Vietnamese, Burman, Nepalitan, Siberia, and Laotian.
Anyway, congrats, Shadow_Twisted. I'll come up with a... more difficult question next time. )) |

I could see that working out fine indeed. However, this being Bon Bon, I could also imagine such a place being run by someone who has a fetish for women's underwear.
BTW, there's a red panda in the comic. Her name is Lulu La Rouge, and she can be seen in Issue 5 page 4. Judging by the name, she's not Chinese, though. :P |
