In aviation news today Russia has revealed it's top secret Stealth fighter designated the T-50 PAK (Firefox).

This new generation plane is meant to replace the aging SU-27 fighters

Despite the fact that Russia made this plane I see some abnormalities that could not make it fully stealthed. First the plane is using older generation afterburners. I don't see any means of masking or dampening the heat signature on the thrusters. Second if you notice the under side of the plane is not completely flat. That could affect its stealth capabilities. Lastley the sheer size of the plane. It's almost lager than a YF-23, thus making it easier to spot without the use of radar. These are just my thoughts on the said plane I could be wrong.

I wonder how they stack up against the US's F-22 Raptor. Still, the Firefox looks like an awesome replacement to the SU.

@Rune

The F-22 still has a technological edge over the Firefox. Plus the the F-22 is smaller, lighter, more maneuverable. One thing the Firefox has a trust/weight ratio greater than one (1.4-1). Which means that the Firefox has the ability to simply out run the F-22 using steep vertical climbs. It almost matches the F-15's trust/weight ratio(1.5-1).

@Silvador
If only that were possible lol

@Everyone

I just remember a movie made approximately 20 years ago with Clint Eastwood. Where he had to steal a top secret Russian jet fighter designated the Firefox.

Well, as you said, its meant as a stealth fighter, where the Raptor is meant as an all around assault craft Firefox can use its thrust advantage as an edge where it counts.

On the contrary, we helped Russia some what with the development. If anything Russia will be our ally if another World War breaks out.

With America's absurd military budget, I would expect nothing less than total destruction of the solar system.

@Silvador most likely that and the other allies the U.S. Has. Britain, Germany, Israel just to name a few. That and NATO would be on our side. The country that could be the opposing side could be China. The population is vastly larger that and they can hurt other countries economically since a majority of products are outsourced to China. Other countries possibly like North Korea and Vietnam will ally themselves with China and smaller neutral countries will pick and choose sides which ever country offers more incentives to join a side.

@Spacey I wouldn't doubt it

@Henk It depends on the type of aliens were fighting ,but we won't really know until they show up and fight us.

@Arc I'm giving potential scenarios. I highly doubt that any major World War will happen soon maybe in the next 50-60 years perhaps. But it may be just more political fighting than actual war. Like i said i doubt it.

We don't have to worry about that, Art. Ain't no aliens goign to invade us. They're just goign to hover there, just out of view of us, in their big mothership holding their entire civilisation, and wait while we wipe ourself out one way or another. Then, when we have killed off ourselves, they'll just move in all happy like and take what's left. No need to waist resources on wiping us out when we can do it for them.

Seriously, nuclear war, global warming or even a plague. It's all down to our own direct or indirect fault. We are the bane of our own existence and ultimately it will be us who destroys us.
