I have not been on here for such a long time. and now, i have bad money issues, which i'll explain below. This has been so stressful for me. I'm not going to make it to University at this rate, *sob*
I'm desperately struggling to make ends meet. I'm eighteen, and in 24 days, I move away to University.
I owe rent. I'm not late with it or anything, and it's for my mother to pay in. But still. I owe it. And I'm struggling. I don't have a job, or a source of income, until the 19th September. Forutunately, My mother is driving me to my new accommodation, on the 17th September. But, I'll owe her £20 petrol for the journey. Now, I can't tell her i DONT have the money, because she won't take me, so I'm not sure what to do. I can't avoid giving her the money, yet i don't have it. I used my EMA to pay my way through half of the year, yet I don't get that now I've left college.
I owe this:
August 31st - £60 (2 weeks rent)
September 11th - £60 (2 weeks rent)
September 17th - £50 (final week of rent + petrol)
This is what I owe her. Now, for some of you, that wouldn't be a lot. But it is to me. Now, the issue is, I've been trying to sell everything, and that'd paid for my rent so far. I can't get a job because I leave so soon, and haven't been able to in the past for the same reason. I'm honestly stuck for ideas. Without this money, I won't be able to have my mum take me to University, so I won't get my student finance sorted, so I'll be in a lot of debt!
The issue is, My mother can't afford this money either! I've tried applying for bank overdrafts, loans, ANYTHING. but nothing is working. I'm careful with money, but I honestly don't know what to do, at all. I don't have any relatives I could borrow money off.
This is driving me insane. I genuinely need the money.. I have NO idea what to do. |

Tried applying for oddjobs? Like....taking care of the kids, or simply doing some light manual work. Those are sometimes around. Otherwise, I got nothing.
Also, welcome back lassie. Sure as hell been a while. |

Damm and I thought that I had it hard with my money.
Can you try to walk into a shop, store, company and ask if they have a small job for you? Maybe they can give you something small, like cleaning toilets, pushing heavy stuff, etc.etc.
do you have a paypal account? |

I know it sounds silly, but it is coming up to Christmas( Yes it is three months off ). However the bigger stores are already looking for people for the season.
I work as a manager for Wal-Mart, these big stores start taking people on in September so that they can cope with the pressure.
My advice for what it is worth is to go the the customer services desk ask for an application form, if they say they don't have any or the store is not recruiting yet, go back a week later and ask again. Keep at them.
Pubs and bars are good sources of temp work (Sometimes cash in hand). But you would probably have to give up your evenings and most weekends, when they are the busiest. |

One, I'm not in the US. Jobs are scarce here. Really hard to get. Two, I move in 3 weeks, so i can't get a job. AT ALL. No one will employ me because I'm moving.
And the issue is, these three weeks, is where i need the money.
Thankyou for the suggestion, but i've been job-hunting for the best half of a year, and found nothing. |

I see. Well. I'll be living 0.2miles from Sainsburys when i move, so, the second I arrive, i'll be applying for a job.
Someone just did something amazing for me. I am eternally grateful. and they've helped so much, I owe them. big time. And i will work night shifts after Uni, and do everything to pay them back. |

| Glad to see your back. Sorry your having a hard time right now. I know the feeling. When I got back from my deployment I was out of a job for about 6 months before getting hired at target, never working there again by the way  I was lucky that my mom and dad let me stay with them till I got back on my feet. |

I think they are. I've covered rent. Now, if my money comes through in time, i'll be able to buy food for when i move. If not, I'll just go without. I don't mind that, i can manage.
^-^ It's why i've eaten next to nothing, so i can cope if i can't afford. I know it's not healthy, but still. I've been trying to lose weight, so, i guess it's not so bad. |
