Name: Xander Cousair Ironfield
Pen name: Ander Irons
Age: 31
Height: 5', 9”
Weight: 180lbs
Species: Big Horn Sheep (Ram)
Fur: Once brown, now pure white.
Eyes: Grey
Occupation: Horror Writer
Clothing: Frequently dons suits that button to the neck, reminiscent of the clothing preachers often wear. Donning a Bowler hat molded to accommodate his curled horns, he wields an umbrella on one arm and a satchel in the other. A silver pocket watch is perpetually attached to him.
Disposition: Xander speaks with a deep, deliberate rumble and always uses clean English. He carries himself with dignity and poise, not allowing emotion to muddle his ordinarily calm demeanor. He treats others with respect, as long as they do the same to him and respects the illusion of courtesy.
Much of his nights are fraught with delusions. Nightmares and visions plague him, preventing calm sleep and haunting his dreams. He toils over his quill and parchment, trying to return to greater days of creation, but always finds the pages blank. He is a tortured soul of the worst kind.
His traumatic past has caused Xander to develop Nyctophobia, a strong fear of the dark. It causes minor auditory and sometimes visual hallucinations. Strong drink or a suitable diversion can sometimes help.
History: For generations, in the heart of Arkham, Massachusetts, the Seventh House on the Left has stood as a symbol of eerie dread for the people of the bustling, New England town in America. The Ironfield's, a family with a long history in the region, have dwelt within it's foreboding confines. It was here, that young Xander first began his journey into the shadows.
Convinced the house was haunted, the young, dark Ram dashed about amid the many passages and corners, searching for phantoms. His macabre fancies and gloomy dreams carried him into adolescence, where he turned to the inner workings of the written word to entertain his dark desires.
In his late teens, Xander began to write his own works. He expressed his morbid illusions onto paper, spreading a dim tapestry of frightening prose to share with the ones eager to read. Little by little, he accumulated a following, until he printed his first work.
“Dreams of Dust and Darkness” sold relatively well, earning him much needed respect by his peers and paving the way for greater tales. “Of Decaying Cities” presented an evolution of his creativity and it's follow up, “The City of Broken Hope” cemented him as a fine writer, earning him praise and a decent fortune.
Amidst all this success, something was missing within the Ram. Something he sought hard to rectify.
The horrors he presented were all imagined. None were based on real terror, only the kind his mind could envision. Determined to turn prose into true experience, he arranged for a sordid trip into the Middle East, into the land of Pharaoh's and pyramids. Far below an ancient temple, long forgotten, he faced things the mortal mind were never meant to see.
The event was so traumatic, his fur turned permanently white and he was found wandering in the desert, alone and dehydrated. Shuttled off to an exclusive asylum, he spent the better part of three months putting his fragile mind back together. He has not spoken of what he saw and experienced, even after all this time. The night in the desert remains a great mystery to all who know him, but most of all, to himself.
His publishers, eager for a new book, have begun to put pressure on him. Their demands, growing more desperate by the day, have worn on his nerves and punished his already dying muse. Leaving America, he has come to BonBon, trying to restore his mind and put to rest his terrible dreams and remaining fears.
A dark and lustful hunger has awakened in him, perhaps a lingering clue of his frightful night? Only time will tell...
UPDATE
Tired of his insufferable phobia, Xander sought the assistance of a hypnotist. Placed into a trance by Dr. Prestum Changum, the author went on a Dream Quest to Unfound Nadrak... and had the pants scared off of him. A complete failure, now the poor ram is even MORE terrified of the dark!
To make matters worse, he now believes a frightful monster called the Nighthaunt is chasing him! Only appearing when the sun goes down, Ironfield flies into a terrified fit and runs for cover, hoping to outrun the imaginary beastie. Sometimes you can't win for losing... |

Pardon my ignorance, you mention horns in your description, but not the species to which your character belongs. |
