I was refering to the original novel and the musical version. Both far superior to the Tom Cruise abortion. I judge the original film on its own merits, rather then against the novel.
If there is ever a third version I think it should be made closer to the book. Set in Victorian Britain and not America, though this will never happen because Hollywood believes America is the only country that exists
