So before I bump one of my old threads, I once again started thinking if it might be better to simply create a new one.

Since I also wanted to make a poll of my own, I though I might as well ask what everyone else thinks.

Do you prefer posting in threads that are new, or are you fine with posting in threads that might be a couple of years old? Do you find it more interesting to post in a thread that was recently created, and doesn't have many reples yet, or is it better to have the old ones bumped, so everyone can read through them?

I'm personally a little torn on this issue. I don't have a problem with old threads, because I've posted in many of them back when they were originally created. On the other hand, I know from other places where I haven't been around for long, that old threads seem less interesting to me, as if their time has passed, and that I wouldn't feel comfortable bumping them on my own.

It can also be difficult to figure out what others want, when trying to make a decision regarding whether to bump an old thread or not. Some don't like it when old threads are bumped/resurrected, while others don't like it when duplicate threads are created.

Since we've had many new members join, I'd like to know what everyone thinks. :)

I honestly prefer the good old bump. I personally feel kind of akward when posting a new thread so I'm more inclined to bump and old one of the same topic.

I would'nt mind posting in older threads. it creates less clogging of the forum, it keeps most of them on the front page, and it creates better repoire with its users.

I tend to prefer old threads waking up too, but it's pretty narrow to me, new threads aren't a big deal. It's just sad not to keep all the history with the conversation (unless you really want an all new one, of course).

I prefer old threads over new ones, because if it's a discussion, one can look at people in the past have said/think about certain topic and allow them to reflect on what they post beforehand.

I use both old and new threads for my purposes. Though I perfer old theads to making new ones. (Mainly because it could take a while for me to post the new thread and it sometimes takes a while for me to put together the idea or starting post)

I prefer using old topics against making new topics all together, as it can allow new members to have their say of the topic at hand. At the same time, this can be used to let older members add on to their original posts. Even old RPs can be given a second wind with this method.

It seems that people prefer old threads being bumped. I'll give that a try and see how it goess. There might be some that I won't bump, mainly if they've been derailed. Then I'd rather make new ones.

This thread is actually one I've made before:

New or old threads. What do you prefer?

I'm actually a little surprised by just how similar they are. I guess I might as well have bumped the first one, but I really wanted to add the poll.
