Of late, the topic of controlling another's character or characters has been raised. I would like to discuss this matter a bit deeper with everyone, so I made this thread/poll. What is your opinion on controlling someone else's character or them controlling yours?
Personally, I strongly dislike someone taking liberties with my characters, especially without first discussing it with me. My characters are my creation, a part of me. They are my works of art and to me what my arms and legs are to my body. I do not, and have no intention to ever take control of another's character(s). I do not know how they would behave, or what they would say. I may think I know, I may suspect and guess at what they might say or do. But I do not know. I also expect this same courtesy in return.
As Maurice Chavez would say, "Let's press the issue". |

| I really haven't had a problem with it as of yet. |

| I would not really enjoy the idea of somebody using my character, even if there is nothing I can do about it if somebody tried. If somebody has my explicit permission to do such a thing, then, and only then, would I even feel cleared of any misgivings on such a thing. |

This is about controlling someone else's character in a roleplay, right? As I'm not much of a roleplayer, I can't say that I have much experience with it. The one RP I've participated in, it wasn't a problem, though someone did write actions for my fursona. It didn't bother me because it was well written and didn't have my fursona do anything unlike her or otherwise make me feel uncomfortable with it. I can understand why it can be a problem for some, though.
This could also apply to drawing pictures of someone else's character, which is something I personally feel strongly about. |

I'm actually okay with it, but only if it is for a good reason. Like for example the plot or story needs to move on and/or because I have been gone for a will.
Also counts when it comes to interacting with other members. If a member feels they need my character to be shown doing or saying something, all I ask is that they stay in character.
If it is something big or important please ask first if possible. |

| If someone wanted to control my character, I'd allow them to do so only if it helps speed up the RP or if they can keep my character from becoming severely OOC. All I ask is for permission to do so. |
