I'm going to put my robotic character (Thorne) out for RPing.
He isn't a robotic version of any species so, technically he isn't a furry, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't like them. Robots need love too.

True, but there are RP sessions outside the relm of bon bon, and I think one of them is sci-fi so Thorne might fit in, But i'll now reconsider not adding him if it would bother people, sorry just trying to socialize abit.

I like that, but you are probably right, but like I was saying I thought one of the RP sessions was a sci-fi RP, but I'm probably wrong.

I like that, but you are probably right, but like I was saying I thought one of the RP sessions was a sci-fi RP, but I'm probably wrong. Actually, there are a couple of sci-fi RP's. However, those RPs typically have specific, one time only characters made and posted in the RP's OOC thread, especially for that RP.

For example, Twilight of an Age is set a few millenia into the future and has some elements that are quite beyond BonBon and it's normal time frame. Those participating in that RP have made a character just for it and posted it in the OOC thread.

This is probably a part of the reason several royals never come around anymore. I'm not really going to say the robot is entirely disallowed, because the RP section has more or less become the means for people to break the rules to their heart's content.

You have people with several fursonas, fursonas used for RPs that fully violate the traditional rules governing the fursonas that will be made into avatars, etc.

If you ask me, it's too late to care about the details relating to the Bon Bon canon, because enough people have already set the precedent that when it comes to the RPs, F*** the Rules.

It has been established, Shadow, that the "rules" regarding the creation of a fursona are only so strict on fursonas that are intended to become royal avatars or even part of teh comic. Those characters created for the RP board only are less bound by such strict rules.

As for your assessment of the board's disregard for the rules, I don't recall ever coming across any rule that states that RP's are required to stay within the lore and boundaries of BonBon and the 1890's. After all, if such was the case, there many threads would have been locked long ago.

There really never was such a rule. However, there was an earlier precedent of RPs staying within the guidelines of the PBB universe. Of course, that was also at a time when the RP threads had to share space with the PBB Discussions. In that time frame, it seemed that most RPs were used to help shape the primary fursona (although I don't recall too many, if any, secondary fursonas at the time). The idea was that if RPs were to involve the fursonas that may appear in the comics, that they would need to obey the same rules.

Eventually, the RPs became more popular and started to dominate the PBB Discussions and it was requested that the RPs be separated from such discussions. With the rise of RPs came the start of the multiple fursona trend. Then, well then there was cheesecaked. I'd say if one member did more for the shaping of the current status of the RP board, it was cheesecaked. He had so many characters and did so many revolutionary things to the RPs of this site. Pretty sure a number of people said "no" to some of his ideas and then he'd do it anyways.

I think all in all, some of the members saw the defiance of the rules of the Bon Bon universe as a sign of disrespect for Vanessa. As for me, I pretty much never RP anymore because of 2 things: 1)Too many RPs just flood out anything new within a week. 2)Too many people with several fursonas for me to really know who I'm RPing with anymore.

You were just a bit eager, and I was the same way with my fursona. Just chill, make any corrections you want to, and don't worry. :)

may i surgest going onto google and looking for a wiki on the victorian times they could help ya and also check out peoples fursona's

like mine witch can be found in my signater under neath this writing in a link his name is link hunter collins

also checking up on vicotian style job's and cloths could also be a good idea
